The city harbor was built between 1898 and 1901. It is one of the most important inland ports in Europe.
In front of the ship reporting office you will also find one of the decentralized locations of the Square of Fundamental Rights: Location 19 (of 24) - Rhine Harbor.
A few benches offer a beautiful view of the Rhine, over a nature reserve with a meadow and the harbor entrance. There is no longer any catering here.
The place can also be reached during high water and then offers a great view over the wide expanse of water.

The Karlsruhe oil harbor is about 8 km downstream
