Pier 39 is one of the absolute highlights of a San Francisco visit. Here you will find a fascinating collection of people, art and culture. Of course, the commerce is not too short. I had not heard of it before and was so excited that I opened it a second time. Sight and experience value !!

Fisherman's Wharf is one of San Francisco's most beautiful neighborhoods. Located in the north of the peninsula, this district delights visitors with its attractions and sea lions at Pier 39, numerous souvenir shops and restaurants, and views of the bay.

Fisherman's Wharf, actually named after the fishermen's settlement, stretches roughly between Fort Mason and Van Ness Avenue to the west, Pier 39 to the east, and Bay Street to the south. Pier 39 is a pier extending into the bay, home to numerous small shops, snack bars, restaurants, and other tourist attractions – you'll also encounter the world-famous sea lions here.

For most visitors, this is the undisputed highlight of the district.

Of course, Pier 39's primary purpose is to entertain tourists and sell souvenirs and snacks, most of which are either not particularly good or are extremely overpriced. But the design of all the small shops and the overall setting and atmosphere are impressive; despite the commercialism, the whole thing seems to be lovingly staged.
