In order to connect the industry in the northern ring area to the railway network, the Ringbahn and the Nordbahnhof were built. In 1885, the private Braunschweigische Landes-Eisenbahn (BLE) had its headquarters established at the North Station. There were the administration and the railway depot. From here, the first section of the ring track was created. Since October 2011, the House of Cultures is located in Nordbahnhof.
