The manor (moated castle) located in front of the palace was in the hands of numerous well-known noble families. In the course of history, a two-storey Renaissance building was built on the site of the castle. But it was only Hans Wolf von Schönberg, who took over the rule in 1580, that the old palace was completed. In this context, there are the two family coats of arms on the castle gate, that of Hans Wolf von Schönberg (left) and his wife Ursula von Carlowitz (right).

Castle gate at Herrenhausplatz and next to the former manor house in Pulsnitz.

Info:

Castle gate from 1829. Rebuilt in 1916. Castle gate at Herrenhausplatz with memorial plaque no. 18, attached to house no. 1, 2023.

The large, detached manor house, part of the castle complex, at the castle gate and not far from the castle pond, was built as a residential building after 1800.

Herrenhausplatz was formerly the lower "entrance gate" to the town of Pulsnitz.
