You almost feel like you've been transported back to the Middle Ages as you walk over the cobblestones toward the old city gate. The gate was once part of Neustadt's city fortifications. It was built in the 15th century, but the half-timbered structure wasn't added until around 1680.

The Old City Gate was once part of Neustadt's city fortifications. It was built in the 15th century, but the half-timbered structure was only built around 1680. The building was extensively restored in 2002 and 2003. Today the Old City Gate is a listed building and is one of the town's landmarks.
