The collection includes numerous written documents, photo material on hat making, hat making tools, Various historical ladies and gentlemen hat models, hat boxes and hat machines from former Guben hat factories.
Genuine Guben wool and fur felt hats from different decades are particularly valuable.
The hat-making collection also contains numerous objects relating to the Wilke hatmaker family in Guben and their former hat factory C. G. Wilke - the first German wool hat factory. Another focus of the collection is the industrial hat production in the VEB Vereinigte Hutwerke Guben or, from 1970, in the main company of the hat industry in the GDR - the hat combine Guben - with numerous writings
