The Liebfrauenkirche is the catholic center church of Duisburg. It was built between 1958 and 1960 in the immediate vicinity of the district court, the city theater and the Mercatorhalle (architect Toni Hermanns).
The extraordinary and attractive two-storey reinforced concrete construction was built in the architectural style of Brutalism. The glass windows, the canopy and numerous other furnishings of the Church of Our Lady are from the Vatican Church of the Brussels World Exhibition of 1958. The relief Moses and the burning bush on the front of the building was created by the sculptor K. H. Türk.
