The station Altendorf (Ruhr) was a passenger station with goods handling in Altendorf an der Ruhr. In 1970, Altendorf was renamed at incorporation in the city of Essen in Burgaltendorf, as there was already a Altendorf in the western city.

The station served in addition to the freight for the surrounding coal mines the passenger traffic of two rail lines: the distance of copper turn over Überruhr to Dahlhausen and the route from Heissen over Steele South to Altendorf (Ruhr).

Old passenger and freight station Altendorf (Ruhr) - became Burgaltendorf after it was incorporated into the city of Essen in 1970. The station was in operation from 1863 until the line was closed in 1959. Today only the old station building (but rebuilt) is left and the tracks have been dismantled for a long time.
