First there was a railway bridge and a car/bicycle bridge. Then a second railway bridge was added (the northernmost one) and a little later the bicycle bridge was built. The car bridge is actually a bit narrow for two agricultural vehicles. So they could not meet each other and were regulated by a traffic light. I don't know exactly how that was resolved. I think it's a shame that the bicycle bridge does not have the same shape as the other bridges. That arc shape would have been worth it.
You write IJsselbrug this way because the ij or IJ is only one letter in Dutch. (Sounds like the German egg)
