The path is blocked behind the children's home of the Funke Foundation. The purpose of the major construction site Bredeney "New rainwater retention channel and new rainwater retention basin" is explained as follows:
"During heavy rain, the rainwater still flows unchecked into the stream that runs along the Krupp Forest. That will change once construction is complete. With the construction of the rainwater retention channel and the rainwater treatment tank, nature is significantly relieved. There are legal regulations in Germany for the discharge of rainwater into streams. This also applies to the stream on the edge of the Krupp Forest, which flows from Bredeney-Süd to the Ruhr. Rainwater currently runs directly from the road surface and in large quantities into the stream. In the future this will no longer be the case." For this very reason, the route through Komoot in this area is very unreliable, which should be taken into account. A short detour brings us back on track and we follow the Wolfsbach to its confluence with the Ruhr.
