    According to general opinion, this cross has no religious significance. It is also not supposed to have been erected for atonement or to remind people of the suffering and hardships of the people. Like the Lambertskreuz or Johanniskreuz, for example, it stands on an old traffic route, the old elevated road, and on a border. In its present form, a tall stone cross on a pedestal bearing the inscription P.W.V. In 1910 it was erected by the Palatinate Forest Association as a knight's stone to commemorate the former "Stone Cross" in 1910.
