The last hike of 2025 organized by the PWV Insheim was to the Thomas Nast Christmas Market in Landau. We spent a lovely afternoon and in the evening went to a concert by Johnny Rieger and special guest Elly Siring.

Today we first strolled through the narrow lanes of the old town, our destination being the mustard mill. Unfortunately, we arrived too late for a guided tour. Then we visited the Christmas market again, though it wasn't quite as beautiful in the daylight. We were now looking forward to Cochem Castle

First we checked into the hotel, then we headed straight to the Christmas market. A beautiful setting on the Moselle River, right next to the old town. After that beautiful sunset, I didn't feel like going home. Landeck Castle ruins weren't on my route, but my car simply turned left. A short climb, across the drawbridge, and I was standing in the midst of a Christmas scene. Beautiful, truly beautiful, and not cold at all!

From Annweiler train station, the trail led uphill along muddy paths to Sommerfels, offering a beautiful view of Annweiler. Then, pleasant forest roads led to the Jungpfalzhütte. Our Insheim-Impflingen local group's last monthly hike took us to the Ramburg ruins, where we stopped for refreshments at the Ramburgschenke tavern. It was incredibly cozy inside, we received friendly service, and the food was delicious.

After the biathlon relay, I needed to relax 🤭 I wanted to visit the Anneresl Christmas market this year on the first Sunday of Advent. After the fiasco, I set off immediately and first headed for part of Otterbach. By the time I arrived at the Christmas market, I felt so much better 🤗 Beautiful brass

The varied circular route led us to fantastic viewpoints time and again. Clouds below us at every distant viewpoint – we were very lucky today! 🫶🍀 Although it was bitterly cold, we couldn't get enough of the views from the high peaks in the forest around Maikammer.
It was wonderful once again on our big summit hike. 😍❄️🗻

Last week the Ramburg tavern was unfortunately closed, but the advertisement for today's mulled wine festival immediately caught our eye. All three of us had time, and the weather was perfect for the Ramberg hike. A lovely atmosphere with wild boar sausage, mulled wine, and a Swedish fire.

Vorige war die Ramburgschenke leider geschlossen, die Werbung für das heutige Glühweinfest hat uns aber gleich angesrochen. Zeit dafür hatten wir alle drei und das Wetter war genial für die Rambergtour. Schönes Ambiente mit Wildbratwurst und Glühwein.

I was still missing Hochberg (635m) and Stotz (603m). I'd never been up the latter before, and you don't really need to 😉. It was a somewhat strenuous hike, with all the ups and downs. We could have included Stotz in the Kalmit and Hohe Loog hikes. The mountain is below the Kalmit; I'd completely forgotten
