In the valley of the Mähringsbach there is almost nothing left to remind us that this was once a village with a school, a mill and an inn.
The farming village of Mähring, first mentioned in documents in 1331, was the westernmost place in Bohemia until after the Second World War. Seven years after the expulsion of the approximately 170 German residents in 1946, the ruins of the almost 40 properties were blown up by Czech brigade units. The village directly on the Iron Curtain was declared dissolved in 1950. But it was not forgotten.

The village of Mähring was the westernmost village in Czechoslovakia and was officially dissolved in 1950 because of its proximity to the border. In 1953 all the houses in Újezd (Mähring) were blown up and the village razed to the ground.
