Qiuxia Garden was built in 1502, during the Ming Dynasty. It is composed of three gardens from the Jin, Shen and Gong family, and the Chenghuang Temple (City God Temple). The history of the Gong family garden and the temple can be traced back even further to the Song Dynasty.
The garden is one of the best known in Jiangnan (= south of the Yangtze River) and is located in Jiading Town. It was put unter cultural protection in 1962, and was opened to the public in 1987.
It is a really beautiful garden with different sections and areas to enjoy. A worthwhile visit when in Jiading. Entrance fee, including the Chenghuang Temple, is (as of Jan 2024) 10 RMB.
