There is still a siding here to the actual Strömsund train station in Ulriksfors, four kilometers south. But today only buses run from this stop. Strömsund was connected to the Swedish domestic railway from Östersund in 1912. The route, which is now largely operated by the railway company Inlandsbanan AB, runs over 1288 kilometers from Kristinehamn in the south to Gällivare in the north.
