The park was laid out in the second half of the 19th century as an imperial park in the area of the former city wall. To the east of Bahnhofsstraße, the park was given a baroque design, to the west a landscape park was created in the shape of the 19th century. In 1895, a victory memorial created by the Quedlinburg sculptor Richard Anders was inaugurated on the square then known as Kaiser-Wilhelm-Platz, which was demolished in 1946.

This square opposite the train station is beautifully laid out. If you have a little more time on your return journey from the station, there are benches here that you can use.
