    Description of the southern route: A completely unsecured variant that moves in the difficulty level UIAA II - II+. An option for all those who are not challenged by scrambling over the normal route. BUT: absolute surefootedness, climbing experience and a head for heights are a must here. Not a safe undertaking. But they could have fun here. Comparable in difficulty to the Klammgrabengrat on the Eschenloher Heldenkreuz or the final ascent of the Arnplattenspitze. Just a lot longer than the two.
    Also important is the crossing over a narrow rock ledge, with a few good grips, about 10 hm after the entry. You mustn't miss it, otherwise you'll end up in a dead end, which can only be exited again by a really dangerous downhill climbing manoeuvre.

      A little more demanding than the water wall, the Kindelwand is still a real highlight on the tour. The passage cave in particular is something rather unusual and should be seen. But it doesn't work without scrambling.

              Thank you @Niklas for the detailed description, I should have read that before taking the descent via the "South Route" last Friday. I didn't think anything of it and finally noticed that the descent is only via Schrofenkletterei, a somewhat tricky slab crossing and a final short 5-meter UIAA II point where you have to hold on to the rock on the right in the direction of descent. Luckily the handles are very good, so I was able to climb down "without any problems". Definitely an experience I didn't have in mind. If you want less adrenaline, you can descend again on the north side, which is not without its steepness (T4+ to T5-). On that day I also had the Maiwand in my bones, I found it even easier :D
