Beautiful, picturesque old town with many quaint little houses and many plants. In addition to the shopping area, there are many small, narrow side streets, which are not quite so full. You notice again and again that you walked in circles between the narrow streets and old houses. Finally, one finds but so the most beautiful places.

The old town could certainly use a fresh coat of paint in some areas, which is perhaps why it feels so authentic. Despite many shops catering exclusively to tourists, you'll find a lot of unnecessary items, but you'll also find some really nice and useful things here.
And if you don't come here to shop, you'll find numerous ice cream parlors, bakeries/pastry shops, etc., which give you good reasons to head back up into the mountains for your next hike to burn off the calories.
You can even leave no money at all and just take in the beautiful buildings.

The old town is very picturesque and impressive.

Unfortunately, far too many cafes and souvenir shops spoil the character and dampen the mood.

Nevertheless, the city of Corfu is worth a visit, especially the "old" and "new" fortresses are a highlight for just €6 per person.
