In 2013, a billboard for Hutteneiche was set up in the Vaihinger Wald.
The oak takes its name from the stable master Hans von Hutten. Duke Ulrichs of Württemberg had stabbed him on May 7, 1515 during a hunting party. Earlier, the Duke, who had been unhappily married, had been favored by his stable master's wife. On the edge of the hunt there should have been a heated debate between the two. Duke Ulrich finally killed his stable master with seven stitches.
