The oldest and largest of the three large park lakes. For me also the prettiest, because optically the most original. The Glems was artificially dammed back in 1566 to improve Stuttgart's water supply.

The Pfaffensee is the oldest of three lakes that can be found in direct succession in the deer park near Stuttgart.
For the sake of simplicity, most people in Stuttgart probably refer to the three lakes as bear lakes. In 1566, Duke Christoph decided to build the Pfaffensee to end the water shortage for the mills at the time. The Glems was dammed for this purpose.
The other two lakes were added later. The Glems currently flows over the Pfaffensee to the Neuen See and from there over an overflow into the Mahdental in the direction of Leonberg.

Here you can observe turtles as well as waterfowl. They often sit on the tree trunks in the water and sun themselves.
