The day-care facilities of the former pit 5/6 of the Schlägel & Eisen colliery act like a castle. But the clock tower marks an industrial plant, where the clock calls for punctuality. The pit was built in 1898/99 as the third independent mine of the mine. But already after almost thirty years of operation, the funding was discontinued. The buildings are committed to historicism. The Maschinenhalle of 1901-the Waschkaue is two years younger-holds an industrial-historical significant object: the last surviving and probably oldest tandem steam carrier Westfalens with a huge bobbin rope carrier. Since 1999, the restored carrier presents itself to the interested visitor.
The protector hood placed above shaft 5 can be seen to the left of the Aldi market. Shaft 6 which is located right between the parking lots is closed with a manhole cover.
In addition to the machine building is still the former vocational school with brand control and clock tower and a workshop building.
