Directions - Marienberg Dream Loop
The starting point of the tour is Marienberger Park, which can be easily reached after 400m from the Marienberg parking deck. The hike first leads over the Orgelbornwiese along the Bruder-Michel-Bach to the deacidification system, from where the ascent over the hill “Auf Kasseling” and the Germans Crossing the avenue street begins to get from there via the neighboring Mittelbach valley to the “Pützblick” lookout point. To the south of Buchenau, the route leads through graceful beech forests to the Buchenauer Brunnenstube, from where the tour turns into the “Hintere Dick” nature reserve. After the nature reserve, the Eisenbolz hill is hiked, whereby the tour does not lead over the Eisenbolz plateau but just below the edge of the terrain through abandoned vineyards and orchards with countless vantage points to the Rhine Valley. This is where the Thonet Temple stands, which the sons had built in 1879 in honor of the world-famous Boppard furniture designer Michael Thonet. The famous travel guide of the 19th century Karl Baedeker also left his mark on Boppard, as the “Baedekers Ruh” vantage point testifies to. The Marienberg Dream Loop is 11.8km long and includes 540 meters of altitude. Source: Text information board
