The small church in Wohlmuthshüll was consecrated in 1921. The planning was done by district master builder Georg Schmitt from Ebermannstadt. In the 1970s, renovations took place in which the interior was redesigned and different styles were reconciled.
The late Baroque altar attracts the attention of the visitor when entering the church. The Madonna, the patron saint of the church, is probably the work of the Pretzfeld carver Haas. St. Ottilie is on the left side altar and St. Nicholas on the right altar.
From the ceiling, the Queen of Heaven looks down. Special attention should also be given to the Way of the Cross and the images on the parapet of the gallery which show the twelve apostles.

In the parish register II, the then town pastor Güttler wrote on April 26, 1920 about the construction of the church in Wohlmuthshüll that "the good Christian local citizens of Wohlmuthshüll had already unanimously decided to build a church 10 years ago by founding a chapel building association, as the previous local chapel had proved to be far too small for the several hundred residents." And he continued: "Yesterday, Sunday, April 25, a celebration that was as rare as it was highly significant brought together the local Christian community members in rejoicing and thanksgiving to the Most High on the festively decorated site in front of the venerable, old Mother of God Chapel in Wohlmuthshüll. A large number of foreign Christian believers from the communities in the Wiesent Valley and in the mountains came to the celebration. The long-awaited laying of the foundation stone for a new place of worship and place of grace for the Christian community of Wohlmuthshüll was to take place. After a lot of work had been done on the foundations in recent months, the building was given its first religious consecration yesterday with the church blessing of the foundation stone. This alone separated the building under construction from the list of earthly dwellings."
