In the shadow of the Grote Kerk you stand in front of the restored remains of Oostende Castle. Within this building and especially underground, the remains of the medieval Slot Oostende are present. The construction of this castle was started before the year 1300. The cellars and knight's hall of the Castle, dating from the late 13th century, are still completely intact. From the end of 2016, a restaurant and beer brewery will be housed in the restored remains of Oostende Castle. A perfect location to fully enjoy the past.
