The famous battle on Kremmener Damm (October 24th, 1412), which is still remembered today by the cross on the road between Kremmen and Sommerfeld, was not the first strategic conflict to overcome the swampy lynx at that time - there had been 78 battles before that a battle. Theodor Fontane reports on this in his walks through the Mark Brandenburg in the seventh chapter of the volume "Fünf Schlösser".
