The museum in the mill is dedicated to the history of milling in the region. About 150 years ago there were far more than 2,000 post mills in today's Oberhavel. One of the last post windmills is in the Vehlefanz district. In the midst of meadows and fields, it is almost as it was when it was built in 1815.
It was used as a flour mill until 1945 and as a grist mill until 1965, before it was listed as a technical monument of old craftsmanship in 1977.
