Kish Church ուրբ Եղիշէ եւրի ; latinized Saint Eliseus) or Church of the Holy Mother of God ( Armenian : Սուրբ ֱստուածածին եկեղեցի ), is a Georgian Orthodox church, probably dating from the early 12th century. It is located in the village of Kiş, about 5 km north of Shaki, Azerbaijan. Archaeological research in 2000 concluded that it was first built as a Georgian Diophysite church, later as a Chalcedonian (Armenian or Caucasian-Albanian) church. Previous research had suggested that it had functioned at various times as a Caucasian Albanian Apostolic Church, a Chalcedonian Church within the Georgian Orthodox Church, and later as an Armenian Apostolic Church. The entrance fee is 9 AZN (08/2025), which is clearly too expensive for such a small property. However, you can go to the turnstile and take photos there, or even get a good look at the church from the outside.
