The Danube Cycle Path runs directly through Mautern and offers breathtaking views of the Danube and the vineyards. A particularly recommended route is the route from Krems via Mautern to Melk, which leads through the most beautiful parts of the Wachau. Numerous wine taverns and wineries invite you to sample regional wines along the way. Mautern an der Donau is a charming wine-growing village in the Wachau and an ideal destination for a cycling tour along the Danube Cycle Path. The picturesque landscape, surrounded by vineyards and several historical sights, invites you to take a relaxing break.

The remains of the Roman city wall, the Roman Museum, and the parish church are particularly worth seeing. Along the Danube, there are idyllic rest areas with impressive views. A visit to a wine tavern or winery rounds out the experience with regional specialties and excellent wines. Mautern combines nature, culture, and enjoyment and is a perfect stop for cyclists and wine lovers in the Wachau. It's worth it!
