Malchow is a wonderful place to explore by bike and offers ideal conditions for doing so. This charming island town enchants with a blend of nature, history, and a relaxed atmosphere. A good starting point is Malchow's town harbor, with a view of the swing bridge, which opens every hour and is a small adventure in itself. From there, a well-developed network of cycle paths leads along Lake Malchow and further through wooded landscapes and quiet fields.

A tour around Lake Fleesensee or a detour to the "Blüthenmoor" nature reserve, where, with a bit of luck, you might spot cranes or sea eagles, is particularly worthwhile. Cultural destinations can also be easily incorporated, such as the GDR Museum or the historic monastery church on the monastery island. Cafés and restaurants with lake views offer a relaxing break – a particularly pleasant spot is one of the outdoor terraces right by the swing bridge.

The routes are mostly flat and well signposted, making Malchow suitable for both ambitious athletes and relaxed leisurely cyclists. If you don't have your own bike, there are numerous rental stations nearby, including e-bikes. This makes cycling around Malchow a truly unique experience, surrounded by water, forests, and sweeping views.
