Italian tunnel of the First World War in the shape of a U or horseshoe, with two entrances/exits: a shelter/depot near what became the first line between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Kingdom of Italy, with the Strafexpediton of the spring of 1916. After the withdrawal of the imperials, the whole area was heavily fortified by the Italian military engineers, to counter possible future invasions towards the Po Valley.
