The plaque was unveiled on September 9, 2021, 82 years after the Battle of Jeżów thanks to the initiative of the "Ocalić od zapomnienia" association.
The Battle of Jeżów is the largest and bloodiest battle of the 30th Polesie Infantry Division in the September campaign. In the battles of Jeżów, Słupia, and Przyłęk Duży, the 30th Infantry Division inflicted serious personal losses on the German 18th Infantry Division. It also suffered significant losses. The German 18th Infantry Division outshone the Polish 30th Infantry Division with the power of artillery fire, the maneuverability of motorized units, and strong air support. The situation of the 30th Infantry Division in the battle of Przyłęk Duży would have been more favorable if the commander of the GO, Gen. Thommée, had managed to send the Volhynian Cavalry Brigade to the fighting area.
