Piperi Park is considered the most historically significant park in Suomenlinna. In the 18th century, formal gardens, a water channel, and a pavilion were laid out on the grounds. By the beginning of the 19th century, the park already featured a pond surrounded by parkland. In the 1870s, the park was redesigned into its present form. After Finland's independence, a café for tourists was built in the park. The park was last renovated in 2009.
