Older residents of Veprii remember the mill of the former manor, which stood on the shore of the lake. A huge wooden wheel turned the mills that ground the grain, later a powerful saw was installed behind the mill. It was used to cut logs for the people of the area. In 1961, after the collective farm warehouse was built, the mill stopped working. Around the 1970s, the old structure was demolished, and a dam with a waterfall and a pedestrian bridge was built in its place.
The Vepris sculptor Viktoras Žentelis, whose artistic and original works decorating the town are already hard to count, has just finished another project.
With his own hands, without any machines, he made a water mill wheel from oak, analogous to the one that once existed. It is hoped that in the future, instead of spinning idly, it will be "employed" and produce electricity for the needs of the town...
