Camí Nou or Kane's road has a military use. Soldiers, horses, artillery and wagons carrying gunpowder, ammunition and provisions will pass through, all looking for more security. This was Kane's real interest in having the road built.
Kane's path was known to Menorcans at the time as the Camí Nou and, at the end of the 19th century, as the Carretera Vella.

Specifically, it was on January 9, they remember from the association, when the sentence of the Provincial Court "in which the defendant (Binimoti) was accused of an act of illegal occupation" was announced.
After all the deadlines for submitting appeals have expired, the section that has been the object of conflict for so long is definitely public and municipal. "Now the moment has come for its recovery for public use", they remember, which is why they have put their hands to the work.
