Beautiful and evocative route that runs along the entire length of Lake San Colombano a few meters above sea level.
The path is easy, suitable for everyone, made safe in the exposed points: 2.5km outward + 2.5km return, practically without difference in altitude, cool and shaded in summer. In several points you can go down to the water's edge via ramps: you come across the dam (access closed) and a couple of small stone beaches.
Lake San Colombano - like the other two in Vallarsa (Lake della Busa and Lake Speccheri) - is an artificial basin created for the hydroelectric exploitation of the Leno torrent: however, it has an absolutely wild and uncontaminated appearance, set between the rocky walls of the deep Vallarsa, with crystal clear waters that turn from turquoise to green.
From Spiro, to reach it you have to go down to the valley via a short but steep track, because the asphalt road is private and closed to cars with a gate; from San Colombano however there is no problem.
