The Pieve di Santa Maria of Bardone is a historic church located in Terenzo, in the province of Parma. This church is special because of its long history and architectural style:

In the Lombard period this road became the most important connection between the Po Valley and Rome. In the Middle Ages it was named Via Francigena and became one of the most important routes for pilgrims. Bardone is located in the middle of the Apennine Route and this church was an important reference point for travelers.
Recent archaeological excavations have shown that Bardone Church is very ancient. The 13th century church formed the basis for the adjustments in the 17th century and was smaller than the current church.
