This trail is incredible as it goes through the forest, which is quite dense in some places. If you're descending Salkantay Pass, this is where the change in environment is at its most dramatic, going from high mountains to rainforest. There are many interesting details: exotic plants and banana trees, for example. The landscape is much greener. I recommend that you stop often to admire the views. You will feel very small as this huge forest envelops you.
