The brewery was established in Stakliškės at the end of the 19th century. Maušas Rabinočius purchased the existing buildings. In the beginning, beer was produced here in small quantities. in 1946 the brewery became an independent company and was named "Gintaras". The name of the Stakliškis became very famous for the Lithuanian mead factory, which was managed for many years by the engineer technologist, fighter for Lithuanian independence, political prisoner Aleksandras Sinkevičius. He recreated mead recipes based on technological descriptions from historical sources and patented them in Great Britain in 1972. After the start of mead production, beer production was gradually reduced and five years later it was completely stopped.
