What Princess Louise received in 1766 on the occasion of her marriage to Carl von Hessen-Kassel became a kind of Garden of Eden for her scientifically interested husband: the famous Freemason had a park laid out here, which he used, among other things, for the mysterious temple work of his lodge. His three-hour tours through the park and the extensive grounds of Louisenlund Castle are more than a history lesson, because you can discover visual axes, hidden traces and signs everywhere - particularly exciting, of course, around the remains of the Masonic or Alchemist Tower. "The armillary sphere, the famous sundial in front of the castle, also has such a secret," reveals Dr. Eva Witzel from the Louisenlund Foundation. She also invites you to a one and a half hour discovery tour through the park and the castle on selected dates.

"Participants should be able to walk well, because some of it is across country," says the art historian, who expressly recommends sturdy shoes. Registration is required for the guided tours, conveniently via an online portal on the Internet.
