In 2005, Carolinensiel turned 275 years old and got a new resident. Since then, the statue of Caroline has been greeting visitors who flock to the historic museum harbor. In her hands, she cradles a ship, safe from all dangers. The plaque says that the term is intended to commemorate "Cliner Wind," which stands for joie de vivre, cosmopolitanism, energy, and daring. However, Caroline is also a reference to the name of the wife of Carolinensiel's founder, Georg Albrecht von Ostfriesland - Sophie Caroline.

The Caroline statue in Carolinensiel was designed by the artists Peters and Petersen in Esens and cast by the Harms foundry in Oldenburg.
