The farmhouse dates back to the 15th century, but it was in the 18th century that the farm experienced its greatest growth thanks to the cultivation of the vineyard (the cellar was built in 1767). At that time, the owners ceded small plots to employees of the estate and began to set up the small rural nucleus, which eventually came to have basic services such as a school, inaugurated at the time of the Republic and which remained active until the 60s; a chapel dedicated to San José, where until two years ago the parish priest of Sencelles officiated Sunday Masses; and the post office building. Phylloxera, at the end of the 19th century, put a drastic end to the cultivation of vines. The agricultural and livestock activity continued, but the number of residents was falling throughout the twentieth century. Today, Jornets retains all the heritage and ethnological charm of past centuries, which is why in August 2009 the Consell de Mallorca declared the ' llogaret 'Well of Cultural Interest in the Historical Set category. A tour through its narrow and irregular streets allows identifying a score of residential homes, as well as a large number of spaces linked to agricultural tasks. Among all of them stands out the singular building of the possession, where appears the shield of the Llabrés of Jornets.
The ownership of the property remains in the hands of the family Planas Gual de Torrella. Among the current owners of the houses are several foreigners who have not hesitated to settle in the area, surrounded by large areas of agricultural crops, holm oaks and olive groves, and near the main towns of Pla de Mallorca. On the other hand, the farm is cultivated with extra virgin olive oil Jornets, which since 2003 has been Oli de Mallorca Denomination of Origin.
