Very quiet, cozy town center with the mill wheel and various, very relaxed water birds.

It all began at the Seebachquelle

People came to this place in the Stone Age, settled there, built houses, cultivated the landscape.

The Seebachquelle is an artesian fault spring. The water comes from deep water sources and could be 10,000 years old. The quality directly at the outlet is equivalent to mineral water.

The Seebachquelle is the most important and water-rich spring in Rheinhessen with 5,000 m3 of water per day. The water temperature is a constant 9 degrees.

The spring area has been enclosed by iron railings since time immemorial. Several steps lead to a stone-framed pumping station, also known as a washing facility, which is incorrect, as this place was only reserved for drinking and cooking water for the surrounding households.
Silver and copper coins occasionally shimmer on the bottom. it brings good luck - so they say - to make a sacrifice to the spring. And the Seegässer boys sometimes had luck when trying to dig up the coin treasure. One once recovered a silver coin with the image of the Virgin Mary and the year 1687.
The following pond-like extension, the lake, used to be used in the summer as a horse trough and for the washerwomen to wash and have intimate conversations. The wide stepping stones still bear witness to their work.
