A fantastic climb. Great opportunities to rest, great views, doable with children and great as a circular hiking trail via the Calmont Höhenwanderweg.

One of the longer ones on the Moselle, which is quite feasible if you have a little surefootedness. In summer it is very crowded at least on the weekends.

A great way to Galgenlayhütte high. Not easy, if you have some fear of heights, but still feasible. For a great vegetation on the way up, a super nice hut and a magnificent view of the Moselle and the railway.

Hiking the Calmont Climb is a great experience!
The view over the steep vineyards, to the glowing green Moselle and to the other side was wonderful.
There are many beautiful places to rest and have a snack.

The way back is more relaxed. The descent to Eller or Bremm is mostly in the shade and not a big challenge.
There are many variations and linking of trails. Everyone may find the right tour for them.

The via ferrata is highly recommended in any case. But you should be good on foot and not afraid of heights. The view of the Moselle loop is definitely worth the effort.

Beautiful and doable via ferrata (actually less cramped than expected) with a great view.

We had previously read that you can definitely do it with a medium-sized dog. However, since most dogs cannot climb ladders, we would advise against it. We had to laboriously carry our Labrador up or down in a few places and he is otherwise quite a bit of a mountain climber.
