If you like hiking and enjoying nature, you should definitely visit the Annaschlucht in the Steinbachtal in Würzburg. The Annaschlucht is a natural monument that was named after the daughter of the designer Valentin Alois Fischer. He was a board member of the Würzburg Beautification Association, which developed the gorge into an attractive hiking trail. The path leads over many stairs and bridges through the wildly romantic gorge, which has a small stream flowing through it. The gorge is around 500 meters long and climbs around 150 meters in altitude. At the end of the gorge you reach the Nikolausberg, from where you can continue hiking to the Frankenwarte or the Käppele. There you have a wonderful view over Würzburg and the Franconian wine country. The Annaschlucht is a worthwhile excursion destination at any time of year that shows you the beauty and diversity of nature.
