    From the church of San Rocco you can enjoy an excellent view of Lake Como. On the sides there are numerous wooden tables with adjacent benches, to be used freely for picnics. There is also a fountain. This chapel is located on the route of the Sentiero del Viandante.

          Located on a natural balcony at 484 m above sea level, a 45-minute walk from the center of Dorio, the Church of S. Rocco was built in 1848 with forms of minor baroque construction. Here, as the plaque at the entrance recalls, in 1856 the inhabitants of the town made a vow after being saved from the cholera epidemic. Around the building there was a cemetery, where those infected were probably buried.
          The interior houses two altarpieces frescoed in 1860 by Giovanni Maria Tagliaferri da Pagnona, portraying Saints Rocco and Anthony of Padua.
          The church, from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the lake and the terraces of Dorio, stands along the very famous Sentiero del Viandante.
          Every year, on August 16th, the people of Doria go up to the church to renew their promise.

            It is a beautiful journey, to be done in 5 individual stages, if you are not very fit, we have grouped them into three days but they are challenging. With strong, very panoramic slopes and several beautiful attractions to see.
