Most Catholics were members of the Nauen-based military. In 1894, the "Missionary Parish" became a full parish, covering all villages within a radius of 6 km. By the turn of the century, the number of parishioners grew to nearly 2,800 members. The chapel became too narrow. The construction of a new church became inevitable. Built according to plans by the Berlin architect Josef Welz, the new church building was inaugurated in 1906. Their construction had cost 80,000 marks.

The neo-Romanesque brick basilica is dedicated to the apostles Peter and Paul. In the belfry, 3 bells were hung, the weight of which weighs a total of 23 talents.

St. Peter and Paul are often found as patrons of church buildings, i.e. the patronage of a patron who is subordinate to an institution. This goes back to the apostles Peter and Paul. The Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul in Nauen is also dedicated to these two patron saints. The corresponding festival is celebrated on June 29th. In the Roman Catholic Church, this name day has a particularly high place in the liturgical order (solemn festival).
