Easy and peaceful walk through beech woods, sinkholes, hillocks and grassy valleys with sweeping views over the Pordenone plain. On very clear days you can admire vast horizons, from the sea to the Dolomites.
Counterclockwise, this is the description of the route:
Piancavallo – Casera Collalt – Candaglia – Casera Barzan - Casera del Medico – Casera Caseratte - Piancavallo
Once in Piancavallo, before entering the large roundabout that leads to Piazzale della Puppa, turn right and find a parking space near the green electrical substation (road closed). From here begins the Promenade of the Malghe signs that unequivocally guide the entire route. The first 2 km take place on a forest track that crosses a beautiful beech forest. Leaving among the grassy clearings, the route makes a U-turn. After Casera Collalt, it intercepts and crosses the paved road (Via Collalt). The track, which has now become a path, descends to the pastures of Candaglia. Here you continue again on an easy and wide forest road that runs alongside mountain arnica crops and pine and fir woods. After Casera Barzan, a wide bend anticipates the climb towards Casera del Medico, in a secluded position on our left. Another 2 km of light but constant uphill lead to Casera Caseratte. From here, having reached the meadow saddle above, you return to the beautiful beech forest, bypassing some characteristic karst sinkholes. Once you emerge in Via Collalto, near the electrical substation, go down for over 1 km on the paved road to the starting point.
