In Sant'Albano Stura the "Casa del Bosco" a new structure built by the Unione del Fossanese thanks to the contribution of the Piedmont Region pursuant to Regional Law 4 of 2000 / 2008 Plan for the "Stura Project. Infrastructures among the cycling routes of the Fossanese Union", with the participation of the municipalities of Sant'Albano Stura, Fossano, Cervere, Genola, Montanera, Salmour and Trinità.
The new structure will support the environmental education, didactic or recreational activities of the Madonnina Oasis, but also at the service of the territory, from the municipality of Sant'Albano Stura to the entire Gesso and Stura river park. The Casa del Bosco is made entirely of wood, equipped with water, electricity and toilets, and set up internally with a projector and supports designed for teaching or other naturalistic activities. But its true potential lies in its position: it is in fact a stone's throw from the "La Madonnina" Naturalistic Oasis, one of the most important wetlands of the province which extends over an area of approximately 220,000 m2, representing the ideal habitat for numerous faunal groups, in particular for the birdlife that frequents the site with over 150 species. Furthermore, the building is completely immersed in the greenery of a forest which allows observations and activities with a naturalistic and environmental background that are difficult to reproduce elsewhere.
