The rock formations Big Organ and Small Organ (580 meters) are among the most interesting geological monuments in the Zittau Mountains. A short branch with a stone staircase leads from the Orgelsteig to a secured rock platform with two small rock formations made of vertical sandstone columns, reminiscent of the pipes of an organ. The smaller rounded rock is about 2 meters high, while the larger rock is larger in area but slightly lower and less noticeable.
The rocks are a unique example of columnar sandstone disintegration associated with the intrusion of rising lava into the nearby Orgelsteig sandstone fissure.
