Hiking highlight Wildsee - lies on the 5-lake hike!
From Wangs we took the gondola and chairlift up to the Pizolhütte (46 CHF up and down) to first do the panoramic high-altitude trail and then the 5-lake hike. After a short detour to the Wangsersee, the 5-lake hike begins with a steep ascent over easily accessible scree and ends with an unforgettable view of the Wildsee with its magical bluish hue. Even if the lake highlight is already here, the rest of the varied tour with constantly new, breathtaking panoramic views and three other lakes (including the equally impressive Schottensee) offers more than enough to make the hearts of mountain lovers happy.
Highly recommended and do it during the week if possible.

The green shimmering Wildsee lies in the Pizol area at 2435 meters above sea level below the Wildseeluggen. In an alpine mountain landscape, the mountain lake can be found a few hundred meters north of the Pizol glacier and from the summit of the Pizol. The Wildsee is located in Melser municipality in the canton of St. Gallen. From the mountain station of the Pizolbahnen you can reach the Wildsee in a one-hour hike. Especially in the warmer hiking months, this hiking trail is fairly to very heavily populated.
